Day1 Latham, NY
We begin our tour to Salem crossing the border at Fort Erie and making our way across the State of New York to Latham for the night.

Day 2 Danvers, MA
Breakfast will be included before we continue our journey to Salem, arriving after lunch. October is the perfect time to visit Salem as they prepare for the annual Halloween festivities. On arrival a local guide will join us for a tour of this historical community, the perfect way to become familiar with the town prior to your free time. Listen as she details accurate history of Salem, you’ll see the cemetery; hear about the Witch Trials and more! Later we will meet and arrive as a group at the Witch Museum. Presenting one of the most tragic and enduring events in American History…the Witch Hysteria of 1692, you will follow the history of witches, witchcraft and witch hunts through the ages and hear about the events of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. There are so many extraordinary things to see and do. Later we check into the Double Tree Hotel Boston Northshore, for a two-night stay. Dinner is included this evening. (B,D)

Day 3 Danvers, MA
Relax over a leisurely breakfast before our departure for Salem. Our first stop will be for a tour of the House of the Seven Gables (built 1668). Hawthorne's visits to this home are credited with inspiring the setting and title of his 1851 novel The House of the Seven Gables. We will also tour Hawthorne House (built 1750) and best known for one famous inhabitant, Nathaniel Hawthorne. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure. Follow the marked walkways through the streets of Salem, visit the many shops or hop on the Trolley (nominal fee) for an enjoyable one-hour journey through five fascinating centuries. Several of the downtown streets are closed to vehicular traffic during this time allowing you to wander more freely. (B)

Day 4 Chicopee, MA
After a leisurely breakfast, a short drive takes us to the city of Boston. Here we experience more of the area’s unique history on a guided tour highlighting such sites as the Boston Common. There’s free time to enjoy lunch and shopping at the historic Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. For those interested, our guide will lead you on a walk along a portion of the Freedom Trail past the home of Paul Revere and the famous Old North Church from where the “One if by land, two if by sea” signal is said to have been sent. Later we make our way to Chicopee for our final night. Farewell Dinner included tonight. (B,D)
