Day 1 Overnight flight to London
From your local joining point, Hanover Holiday shuttles will take you to Pearson International Airport in Toronto where you board your direct non-stop flight with Air Canada to London, England. Your Hanover Holidays’ Tour Director will be flying with the group.

Day 2 London, England
We arrive in London in the mid morning, local time. A local guide meets us at the airport and takes us on a casual tour around London, aboard the motor coach! Hyde Park, the River Thames, Parliament and more will be highlighted on our way through the city. Our local guide will also be working with the hotel to get everyone into their rooms as soon as possible, so that you have a chance to relax. This evening a full Dinner with wine is included. (D)

Day 3 London, England
Breakfast is included before we set off on an exciting day of exploring. First we get a terrific view of the city from the London Eye, a giant Ferris Wheel that provides an incredible view of the city when you are at the top of its 443 ft. height. Next we board a boat cruise that will serve lunch onboard. The boat will travel from Westminster Abbey up the Thames to the Tower of London. Here we have a guided tour, including the Crown Jewels, and featuring many stories of this historic site, such as the Ravens, without whom the White Tower would supposedly fall. This evening dinner is included at a local London Pub. (B,L,D)

Day 4 Windsor & Stonehenge
On our way out of the city today we tour Windsor Castle, as long as the Royal Family is not in residence. Besides a stately Royal Residence, magnificently furnished with amazing furniture and decorated with great art pieces from the Royal Collection, this continues to be a working castle with staff offices. Next stop is Stonehenge, one of the wonders of the world! Today’s visitors see substantial remnants of the stone circle erected between circa 3000BC and 1600BC and aligned with the rising of the sun at the midsummer solstice. Tonight’s included dinner will be at the hotel in Wiltshire. (B,D)

Day 5 Bath & Stratford Upon Avon
Today begins with a morning tour of Bath, an ancient town best known for the natural spring baths developed during the Roman occupation. Possibly the best preserved Roman religious spa from the ancient world, there are four main features—The Sacred Spring; the Roman Temple; the Roman Bath House and the Georgian Pump Room. Then the motor coach takes us into picturesque Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty. For many the Cotswolds are the epitome of England—a patchwork quilt of rolling hills, green fields and colourful villages. In Stratford Upon Avon we stop to tour Anne Hathway’s Cottage, the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife. Along with the cottage we tour the beautiful cottage garden and sculpture garden, featuring a unique maze. Tonight we are in Stratford Upon Avon for overnight. (B,D)

Day 6 York
After the included breakfast we tour Shakespeare’s Birthplace. A half timbered house, Shakespeare was born here in 1564, but the family continued to own the property right up to the 19th century. Then a local guide tours us through Coventry Cathedral where the ruins of the 14th Century Building are combined with a modern structure. In the afternoon we travel on to York, where you will feel like you have stepped back in time in this truly medieval city. The heritage here dates back to Roman and Viking times and the city skyline is dominated by the impressive York Minster structure. Pictures here will be a must. Dinner will be served at the hotel in York this evening! (B,D)

Day 7 Lake District
The best way to explore York is with a local guide on a walking tour and that’s how we start our day. The tour will include admission to the amazing York Minster, a glorious medieval architectural achievement! In the afternoon we take a drive through the Pennine Mountains on our way to England’s Lake District where we have a wonderful night on the shores of serene Lake Windermere with Dinner included! (B,D)

Day 8 Glasgow
This morning we take a cruise on Lake Windermere so we can soak in the charming beauty of this wonderful area. The boat takes us across the largest lake in England featuring spectacular mountain views and tree covered islands. Then through Amleside with a pause in North Lakes for a tour of Wordworth’s Dove Cottage, where he completed some of his finest poems. Tonight we are in Glasgow! (B,D)

Day 9 Stirling/Perth
A local guide gives us a morning tour around Glasgow including admission to St Mungo’s Cathedral where you will find the tomb of St. Kentigern or Mungo as he was more often referred and the nearby Provands Lordship, the oldest house in the city, built in 1471. A short drive brings us to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest castles, largely due to its commanding position overlooking the countryside! This amazing structure withstood 16 sieges and presided over 3 major battles, two of which changed the course of Scottish history! (B,D)

Day 10 Perth
A day trip from Perth takes us into the Scottish Highlands! First a visit to Pitlochry, famous for its scenery and hydro-electric dam and salmon ladder. An observation chamber with portals means visitors can watch the salmon as they make their way up stream through the ladder. Then at Blair Atholl we tour Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. The history of this castle extends 740 years, during which it welcomed some incredible visitors! The castle sits at the gateway through the Grampian Mountains, the main route north to Inverness. Here we also find the Blair Atholl Distillery, established in 1798, where a very fine 12 year old, Single Malt is produced! A tasting is definitely in order! We return to Perth for overnight and Dinner! (B,D)

Day 11 Edinburgh
Sure to be a favourite day as we travel into Edinburgh and get our first look at one of the world’s finest cities! From the magnificent architecture of the medieval Old Town to the graceful buildings of the Georgian New Town, this vibrant city has a lot to see. We include a guided tour of Edinburgh Castle, the medieval fortress that dominates the city skyline and built on an extinct volcano! Next we tour the Palace of Holyrood House, the Queen’s official residence when in Scotland. (B,D)

Day 12 Edinburgh
A casual morning before the motor coach takes us for a day trip to St. Andrews, famed far and wide for being the home of the game of golf! Besides the two famous golf courses, the town of St. Andrews is very charming. Upon returning to Edinburgh, we have a delightful evening of Dinner and traditional Scottish entertainment! (B,D)
